What is the difference between Investments and trading?

Trading: i buy a share and try to sell the share at a higher price with the idea of making some money in the short term (day/week/2-3months)

Investment: is basically investing in other asset classes like real estate, gold, bonds, currency, equity.

Trading means buying and selling of a particular product, whereas investment means investing money for long term benifits.

Investment and trading are two different methods of attempting to make profit in the financial markets.

The goal of investment is to gradually built wealth over an extended period of time through buying and holding of a portfolio of stocks, basket of stocks, mutual funds, bonds and other investment instruments

Trading involves the more frequent buying and selling of stocks, commodities etc,. with the goal of generating returns that outperform buy and hold investing.
