Intraday analysis objective is to identify the market momentum of that particular day.

Momentum is the force of a move.In market we see a move on both sides .The move may not be a very long one or sometimes can go on for a full day in the same direction. This longevity of the move is called ‘momentum’.  To identify this, we use the top down approach.

Whereas, positional analysis focus to understand and forecast the market trend and characteristics of the price movement of a stock for a certain period ( 1 week to 3 months or even more)

Intraday analysis is to analyse the market situation and price movement to make profit for buying/selling or selling/buying the stocks on the same day. The analysis is the top down approach and needs to be focused on that day’s sentimental and momentum analysis. The parameters to be considered for intraday analysis is different from positional and the intraday analysis needs to be completed in shorter time. Positional analysis focused on demand and supply where is the intra day analysis focused on that day’s sentiment and momentum.

Intraday analysis is one that is done to understand the market trend for trading within the same day. The major factors that contribute to this are the market sentiment and momentum of the current day, whereas positional analysis is done with demand and supply study for a certain period of time
