Decades before trades were done through certificates. Whereas now, using demat and trading account, one can buy and sell shares through internet. This is called online trading.
When a person is trading on himself like logging to his demat account and start buying or selling a stock it is called online trading.
On the opposite offline trading means. the person will call the broker and ask them to buy or sell a particular share at so and so price with so and so target or stoploss mentioning his demat account. provided he should have sufficient balance to proceed the trade.Online trading is also known as e-trading or self-directed investing is electronic trading with the help of the internet and computers. The user can search for stocks available on the different exchanges and decide on the broker who offers the best price and take an intuitive trading experience. Stocks, bonds, mutual funds, futures, options, and currencies can all be traded online.
